EVENT REVIEW: THE BLACK BOTTLE EXPERIENCE

By Maggy Mathapo On the 26 th of February 2015 the Guide magazine was invited to the Black Bar bottle experience held at the trendy Maboneng precrint . I must say I was really in a hurry to see myself there. You can never go wrong with Black Bottle.  When we got there we were given a very warm welcome that got us more excited about what we were to experience. I must really admit that I actually learnt a few things about the Black bottle whisky, having recently launched here in South Africa last year. The evening started at the living room roof top where guests got a brief whisky tasting with Black bottles global ambassador Mal Spencer with some delicious finger snacks, sushi, cheese and some seafood. Global ambassador for Black bottle Mal Spencer  It wouldn't be a black bar experience without some bit of magic, guests got treated to some magic tricks from a talented magician who managed to leave guests with only one question in mind “how did he do that?...

Celeb Fashion – SA Fashion Week opening party

By Itu Thulare There’s truly nothing more refreshing than the scent of Fashion Week. Last night saw the opening party of the much anticipated Cruz vodka SA Fashion Week, which had some of us fashion-conscious gofers eyeing the red carpet and most importantly, the effort that Mzansi’s A-listers put forth. In the back of my mind I still cannot erase the effect Solange had on me in Paris Fashion Week with her stunning taste and appreciation for exquisite garments and statement pieces. She’s always been a favourite; alas this is not Paris and she’s unfortunately not my ‘bff’ as I have dreamed of. In the attempt of soothing my ‘bff’ reality check, I scouted the hot and not so hot ensembles at the SA Fashion Week opening party sponsored by Cruz Vodka. DJ Shimza, DJ Kent and the Layders kept the guests entertained while celebrities posed for photos and interviews on the Cruz Black Carpet. I’ve chosen to go through looks that got a reaction out of me, and unfortunately it ...
