Masego brings international Flavour to the Flying Fish Ultimate #FlavourChillas Backyard Festival
A burst of Flavour as Masego and local hitmakers headline the #Flavour Chillas
As South Africa celebrated Workers Day on the 1st of May,
premium flavoured beer Flying Fish gave Johannesburg an unforgettable
flavoursome experience at their Ultimate Backyard Festival at Long Meadow Farm
in Fourways. Headliner and “Old Lady’ Hitmaker Masego took to the stage for a
much anticipated performance that included a medley of his classic hits and
some fresh new tunes.
Hundreds descended on Long Meadow Farm to finally catch a
glimpse of the popular Jamaican trap, house and jazz musician who announced
earlier in the month that he will be returning to the country.
This after Masego could not make it to last year’s Flying
Fish Flavour Odyssey due to unforeseen circumstances. The singer didn’t disappoint
this time around with an electrifying performance that had the crowd on their
feet and included classic tunes such as Tadow and a medley of his popular hits.
The Ultimate Backyard Festival is part of the Flying Fish
#FlavourChillas campaign which is giving South Africans all the tips and tricks
they need to host their own festival in their own backyards. The brand has used
whatsapp, the country’s biggest social media platform, to bring festivals to
backyards across the country with uniqe tips from the #FlavourChillas crew who
are curating flavoursome experiences in the music, fashion, photography, food,
art and culture. The Flavour Crew who brought these flavoursome experiences to
life at the festival is made up of
Stylista Lola who curated festival
looks on the Flavour crew stage, Entertainer and host Sphaka, Mixologist
Mmisology who designed Flying Fish cocktails for the day , Instagrammer and
Massiv Music host Anele Zondo who made sure that all the special moments are
nicely captured on Instagram, and Muso Uncle Party Time who played a
flavoursome set tunes during the event.
These experiences were complimented by the rich sounds South
Africa’s most talented performers which included, “Suited” songtress Shekhinah,
Venda trap music sensation Una Rams, the eclectic musician Muzi , musos Darkie
Fiction and Blaq Congo who brought the sold out venue.
“The #FlavourChillas Festival is a first for us as a brand
and its centred around giving people the ultimate experience that will feel
like going to any of the biggest festivals in the world, in their own backyard”
said Flying Fish Marketing Manager Colleen Duvenage. “ We have been known in
the past for bringing people together at unique experiential events and this
for us is no different. The #FlavourChillas campaign is inspired by various
passion points and we have brought together a crew who have been giving people
tips on how to own their own backyard festival through whatsapp and social
media” she added.
The #FlavourChillas campaign will continue to host unique
backyard Chillas events for the coming month and Flying Fish is encouraging
people to follow their social pages for more how to host their very own
Chillas.
