STIFF PAP, CORNELIUS AND DENIECE MARZ TO PLAY OPPIKOPPI

Oppikoppi, the biggest multiple day music festival held in Limpopo returns for it’s 24th annual celebration of home brewed music. The Red Bull Music Stage also returns to the festival for it’s 9th year.



This year’s stage which opens on the 9th of August will feature an array of genres which includes new age kwaito, afrobeats, future soul as well as SA’s beloved home-grown favourite, Gqom. Nineteen acts will grace the stage this year including South Africa’s Queen of eclectica, ANG alongside her brother in bass, Miki San Tzu on the mic, comfort food DJs Deniece Marz and ANDROID 18 and Isam-Qeh hit maker, DJ Sandiso.


Off the release of his debut album, Muzi will play at the Red Bull Music stage for the second time, showcasing why he is one of Mzansi’s freshest DJs and producers. Eye-On Feather will bring acid jazz, future funk and low slung beats. Other acts include vocalist and poet Sió, techno DJ and producer Mark Valsecchi, hip-hop and future beats DJ Symatics and hard-hitting bass music maker, Jon Casey.

Cornelius and Stiff Pap will also make their way onto the stage this year. Jakinda, who makes up one half of new-age kwaito group, Stiff Pap and Cornelius will travel to Berlin in September to take part in the Red Bull Music Academy. The Red Bull Music Academy has been pairing music legends and emerging beatsmiths since 1998 in cities such as Berlin, Cape Town, Melbourne, Barcelona, Rome, São Paulo, London, Tokyo and New York City. Red Bull Music Academy alumni Trancemicsoul will play at the Red Bull Music stage this year as well.

Escapism RefugeJust Themba, future soul DJ Brownpepperann, Afrobeat and gqom DJ SiNoir and Themba Lunacy, a person who knows how to bring the house down, join the lineup amongst many more acts.

The nineteenth act of the Red Bull Music stage will be the audience. This year Red Bull introduces King of the Aux where partygoers have the opportunity to rock the party with their favourite tracks. The crowd will choose the winner of King of The Aux.
