Celeste Ntuli’s Black Tax show to entertain Newcastle comedy lovers

It’s that time once again to prep your funny bones for another memorable night of endless laughter by the Queen of Comedy herself, Celeste Ntuli. After taking South Africa by storm with her renowned “Black Tax” show, Ntuli will be entertaining the crowd at Newcastle’s top entertainment destination, Blackrock Casino, on Saturday, 8 September 2017.

“Celeste is a seasoned comedienne and a legend in her own right. She has broken many of the barriers and is a force to be reckoned with in the male-dominated field,” says Blackrock Casino Marketing Manager, Candice Chetty.

“I am a black woman who grew up in rural areas in a middle class family so I have experienced Black Tax, which is what inspired the name of the show. I’ll be sharing my own experiences which I’m sure many people will relate to,” says Ntuli.

Ntuli is widely known as the Queen of Zulu Comedy and is the first ever local female comic to record a one-woman-show DVD. Seriously Celeste is a collection of her memorable performances across the country. TV lovers will also recognise her in the popular Zulu soapie, Isibaya, portraying the role of Siphokazi  MaMthembu  Zungu. Celeste attributes her success to having no holy cows – stereotypes, relationships and social issues – no subject is taboo as far as she is concerned.

“Comedy lovers can look forward to a night filled with laugher and authentic local comedy, told from a perspective that many can relate to. There will also be a meet and greet with Celeste Ntuli after the show. Get your tickets early to avoid disappointments as we anticipate a sold-out show,” adds Chetty.

Tickets to the show are on sale from R150 per person and are available through Computicket and at the Blackrock cash desk. Blackrock Rewards cardholders will receive up to 20% discount on show tickets. The show starts at 19:00.
