AUGUST ALSINA TO OPEN THE STAGE FOR CHRIS ‘BREEZY’ BROWN IN SOUTH AFRICA


SA Promoters, Glen21 Entertainment, Jalibird and Vertex Events in association with Channel O confirmed that American Rnb and hip hop sensation August Alsina will be joining Chris brown for his South African tour in April. Born August Anthony Alsina Jr on the September 3, 1992 in New Orleans, he gained fame through YouTube with his viral videos covering hits from the likes of Musiq Soulchild and Lyfe Jennings which generated millions of views turning him into a you tube sensation.  

He later teamed up with Trinidad James for a hit single "I Luv This Shit," featuring which had over 4.5 million views.  Radio stations caught wind of “I Luv This Shit”, propelling the provincial anthem to the stratosphere. In October 2013, the single leapfrogged songs from Drake, Jay-Z, and J. Cole to become the #1 record on the Billboard Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Chart—a feat that had not been accomplished by an R&B debut single in 4 years.

August got his big break in 2013 when MTV named him on their annual list of the fab 5 hip-hop artist to watch. In 2014 August star was shinned bright with major collaborations with hip hop heavy weights like Nicki Minaji on their hit track “no love remix”, “Make It Home” with Young Jezzy and also featured on the chart topping song "Hold you down" along side other notable musicians  DJ Khaled, Chris Brown, Future, Jeremiah. This is the first time that August Alsina will perform in this country.
