Incredible Connection - ode to the frustrated

Exasperation displayed in the explosive mode of teeth clenching, fist banging and crying are captured by OPENCO, Incredible Connection’s ‘officially appointed’ ad agency, in the retailers new TV ad that was first aired in September.   The daily tech challenges, endured by most of us, have been visually and poignantly captured on screen.

“The overall concept is based on a human truth and the universal experience of being frustrated by technology that refuses to do what it was designed to do,” says Louis Gavin, Chief Creative Officer at OPENCO – The Open Collaboration.  “The ad is in fact entitled ‘Ode to the frustrated’ and the narrator clearly commiserates empathically with all of us out there who’ve failed to get tech things  to work, connect, or simply respond.”

And the upshot to these tech problems…..Incredible Connection, the technology leaders with the widest technology footprint in one country – more than 70 stores nationwide that offer expert service and the most extensive range of tech products and solutions!  “What is brilliant about this ad is that the emotions of our customers are revealed in a way that virtually everyone has experienced – it is so accurately captured that viewers are automatically able to identify and sympathise with the various characters in the differing  circumstances,” says Selvan Naidoo, marketing executive, Incredible Connection.  “What’s also fantastic is after you have seen the ad, you hear people saying things like, “I know exactly how he feels!”; “No way -that was just like me last week!; “I was worse than that, I slammed the keyboard so hard that I had to take it in to get it fixed!....”

“The ad showcases a resolve of how Incredible Connection makes tech easy for the everyday person,” says Selvan Naidoo.  “TechXperts are our very own in house IT experts that are able to assist individuals and SME’s countrywide.  And our click & collect service, which is communicated in the ad, allows customers to shop online and collect in store.”

“At the end of the day it’s all about easing the massive frustration that tech is known for, and providing customers with a simple and workable solution at any of our stores across the country,” says Selvan Naidoo.  “Not only does the ad capture the customer problems, it also offers the Incredible Connection solutions perfectly.”
