Now you can order takeaways
from restaurants and fast food outlets from the comfort of your mobile phone.
Appetite is the new app for
iOS and Android that lets you browse various menus from restaurants and fast
food outlets in your area (wherever you may be), and then order items as you
wish.
Once you’ve submitted your
order, you’ll get a confirmation via SMS, letting you know when your order will
be ready for collection. Or, if the restaurant or outlet offers the service,
you can pay online via your phone and get your takeaway delivered to your door
or office or wherever your current location may be.
It’s that simple, and it’s
free. All you pay for is your food order, as usual, and a delivery fee if
applicable. The app can be downloaded to your phone for free and once you’ve
registered, you’re ready to take on takeaway the easy way.
“This is a South African-developed app for South Africans that really
takes the pain out of getting takeaways,” says Chris Davis, who started the
company in October last year. “They don’t have to wait if they’re picking up
their order, they don’t have to deal with difficult phone calls, and they can
even pay via the secure, online transaction processing system.”
When you open the Appetite app on your phone, it will automatically
bring up a list of restaurants and fast food outlets in your current location.
You can browse all their menus and select the items you want. The app connects
directly to the restaurant or outlet and as soon as you confirm your order, it
immediately sends the information to their order counter which is automatically
printed out on an order slip.
From your phone to the order
counter with a few simple commands.
The Appetite app is a godsend
when you’re ordering for a bunch of people. It means you can easily cater for
everyone – from the picky to the easy to please and the vegans to the
revolutionaries. Never again will you spend an age on the phone trying to get
the order right only to find it’s still wrong when you get it!
“Our app means you always have the menu in front of you, you don't get
orders mixed up, it makes it very easy to order for lots of different people,
like when you have guests over, from lots of different restaurants or fast food
outlets and you don't have to wait to get through on the phone,” says Davis.
Currently there are over 300 restaurants and fast food outlets on board,
primarily located in the Fordsburg, Fourways, Midrand and Centurion areas and
surrounds, and the number grows daily. Davis says he is concentrating on
rolling it out across Gauteng in this first phase and will in time take
Appetite nationally.
It’s that simple. You can
download the app from www.appetite.co.za, the App Store or the Play Store and get munching
within minutes. Chris and his team of professionals are constantly updating the app
with new features and bringing more restaurants onboard so if your favourite one’s not
there yet be sure to send a request and the team will make sure it’s there for your next meal.
