EVENT REVIEW: The Union Pop-Up Bar with Bombay Sapphire

On the 8th of May 2014 the Union Bar in Illovo (Corner Oxford and Chaplin Street) played host to the launch of the Bombay union pop-up bar. First time attending the Bombay Union events and it was also my first time visit to  The Union Bar, the venue is so chilled, with simple and  vintage elegant  décor  which complements the mood of the venue, definitely going back their again soon.

The event was attended by joburgs who’s who’s, media, bloggers, fashion designers and socialite’s, spotted the likes of Khanyi Mbau, Melaine Ramjee, Leeroy Wright, Selae, Newlywed Roxy Burger, David Tlale, Jen Su, actress Camille Fisher, Boyz n Buckz, the guest list was insane only Thulane from Brand Ambassador can pull of such a guest list.

On arrival at the venue guests were welcomed to the event with a variety of cocktails that were prepared using Bombay Sapphire Gin (dope), with a wide range of cocktails to choose from guests were spoilt for choice.I personally enjoyed the apple juice and Bombay (there was something about that drink, the way it blended perfectly with Bombay Sapphire, with a little ice,(lol I lost track on how many cocktails I had). 

 We munched on these delicious small burgers and some freshly prepared chips which perfectly also complemented the chilled vibe and blended perfectly with the Bombay Cocktails.

Musician Bongi Mvuyana took the stage to perform some of her soulful melodies that managed to evoke a romantic mode around the venue, it was my first time seeing her perform, I think her vocals were a bit of, she can do better. We managed to dance the night away, sipped on more cocktails and mingled.
