JAMESON TO HONOUR FORMER SOUTH AFRICAN PRESIDENTS IN CELEBRATION OF 20 YEARS OF DEMOCRACY
It was 20 years ago that all South Africans were able to
cast their vote for the first time on 27 April 1994, ultimately marking the end
of Apartheid rule and establishing a new democratic elected government.
This month marks the 20th anniversary of democracy in South
Africa and for this reason the world’s premium Irish Whiskey Jameson is
honouring five of our former presidents FW De Klerk, Nelson Mandela, Thabo
Mbeki, Kgalema Motlanthe and current President Jacob Zuma by presenting them with a bottle of
their exclusive Rarest Vintage Reserve. The bottles are valued at R20 000 each.
The Rarest Vintage Reserve is blended with some of the oldest and rarest
whiskeys from the Jameson stock and boasts a mouthful of spicy and fruity
flavours giving it that extra tantalizing taste to stand out above the rest of
the Jameson products.
And while Madiba is not with us anymore, Jameson will
present the bottle to the Mandela family as a gesture of appreciation for their
efforts in ensuring a freely democratic society for all to live in.
“Jameson understands the importance of marking the country’s
road to democracy and celebrates the fact that today the country is a new
society – built on a foundation of freedom and fairness,” says Jameson
Marketing Manager Sibusiso Shangase.
Details on when the hand-over will take place, will be made
in due course.
