Event Review: The 2nd Annual Tembisa DJ Easter Festival

by Margaret Mothapo
Finally the day we were waiting for came. That is the 20th of April 2014.  Some of us could not wait to be at Moriting Park and be blown away by South African DJ’s. Although this was my first time attending the Easter Dj Festival I must say Moriting Park did not look like the Park that I normally see every day. For some reason it was like I am not in Tembisa, the Park was all made up and prepared for the event I must say the set up was on point I was really impressed.
We love you Dj Shimza

Before getting into the park we had to all go to Boisantha, a lounge not far from the park to verify our tickets and get a tag.  Luckily there was no long queue to get a tag that was one thing that also made me smile as I panicked and thought I would spend hours in a long queue just to get a tag.Thank God that did not happen at all.

Enough about the boring details now let’s get to the real interesting details. When I got to the park I was already feeling that the Dj Festival is really here. Guess who was on Stage?? Oh yesss it was the main man Dj Shimza. The audience were screaming like always. A few minutes later he was joined by one of the legends Black Coffee whom Dj Sbu referred to as (Ikhofi eli munyama ) ooh they really killed it, I am still in stitches.
Me and my friends enjoying the music

Uhuru also blessed us with their presence and killed their performance alongside with Oskido, Dj Kent, Black Motion, Culoe the Song, and Dj Tira who closed of the event in style. This event was really enjoyable and way better than I had anticipated. Although there was a very high rate of fraud in terms of the tickets I must say Shimuzic Productions did its best once again. Cannot wait for the 3rd Annual Tembisa Easter Dj Festival. In fact see you next year.
