so this week on BBM conversation, i got my home boy from Tzaneen, a nigga who's going to blow up soon, lets do this, you know i have a good eye for talent. He goes by the name Nyiko "Ashton" Nokeri , producer and founder of Niz E.N.T
Gavinko: so when did you start rapping?
Ashton: i got in the game in 2005 and became serious in 2007
G:what motivated you to get in the game?
A: the love i developed in the process of fitting in, i use to rap to Eminems songs. i could write at that time but never tried it out, till i met a friend of mine(kgotso) who made beatsand encouraged me to give it a try, here i am today.
G: what influences your music?
A: i see myself as more than a rapper, i listen to all genre but mostly besides hiphop is the orgin of hip hop: soul music. I listen to the likes of J.cole, Ace hood, T.I, and Drake. to get a view of things, so they also have an influence on my music.
G: so who would you like to work with in the near future?
A: lemme see.....Aka definity and Khuli Chana in my high aims. Most will be fellow upcoming artist.
G: what would you lke to accomplish throughout your career?
A: To touch and change peoples lives through this music. As it is hard to make it out here i hope to believe in someone new as someone beliebed in me. Also to unite fellow artists because we lark unity out here. Besides winning awards ma hommie im gonna enjoy helping others where i can.
G: i like that answer... so hows the family support like?
A: well parents we all know its a different story when it comes to music but they have no problem with it unless i have a fall back plan.LOL education which i fully understand now, but you know Hip Hop is like Japanese to our parents. But the rest got ma back fully.
G: do you have a fallback plan?
A: right now i went back to school, next year imma study sound engineering. so overall i'm staying in this music realm and also im an I.T technician.
G: so what you currently listening to?
A: Klappa Heiz (zambian rapper)
G:so how many albums, mixtapes have you dropped so far?
A: i havent dropped an album yet, dropped my mixtape Last year November/December titled: The wake up call which did vey well via internet grinding internationally. Was more regonised in U.K,SA, USA and Zambia, this year i dropped two singles for my upcoming album*shooting star* girl you got it ft. Ali mirza currently on 3250 downloads and currently on Capricorn FM playlist, Vision FM(U.K) and also made number 1 Redwireradio (PTA)
G:what can we expect from you this year?
A: this year, im working on my album but in a very slow pace because i got my head in the school Biz. But im heavy on the production side so far i've produced for hypes newcomer delight winner ali Mirzaand track 4 on the hype session cd vol 44 titled: Red bottoms by Mista Maliq. also crossing over to Zambia and Kenya. so production i'm making heavy moves but as an artist, i'll be back full throttlenext year. with a huge suprice i'm building up in silence and will also be doing a feature as well.
