The nominations for the 18th annual MTN SA music awards which will be held in sun city superbowl on the 29 and 30 april 2012. leading the pack of the nominations is Zahara with 7 nominations for her commericaially successful debut album lolwe, the nominations were for album of the year, female artist of the year, newcomer of the year, best smooth urban album, remix of the year for the song lengoma by DJ sbu and also for best collaberation.

Following behind zahara was rapper zakwe, whos self titled got two nomiations for the best street album of the year and also the reimix of the year for the song Bathi Ng'yachoma ft zulu boy.
Rapper AKA who had one successful year last year, releasing his commericial successful album, perform everywhere in south africa and selling out shows, walking away with the most awards at last years metro fm awards, is nominated 2 best urban album of the year and also male artist of the year.
