Olmeca Tequila & Soul Candi "Switched On The Night" in Soweto

Sunday marked the kick-off of the Olmeca Tequila and Soul Candi Session at Chaf Pozi in Soweto. The event was a huge success with a lot of fun and familiar faces in attendance. The soulistic sounds of Micasa, The Ruffest and a string of popular DJ’s has the party in full swing until the wee hours of the morning. Reunion Island SA invasion.

French cuisine, vibey, upbeat island style music and island styled hostesses greeted you as you entered the Melrose Arch Plaza and V & A Waterfront this past week. These 2 venues provided guests with an experience of a lifetime as they depicted Reunion Island. Guests were transported into a land that’s blessed with a tropical climate and beautiful volcanic landscapes, white sandy beaches and mountain scenery .  The event was graced by the likes of Azania Mosaka, Mpho Maboi and Pabi Moloi. Colour Me Crazy Draws Thousands of Colourful Fans in Joburg

The inaugural FedGroup Presents Colour Me Crazy 5km Run & Colour Festival took place recently on the 21st September at Riversands Farm in Joburg and proved to be a massive success amongst the thousands of colourful entrants who participated. From the assortment of crazy outfits, the running, dancing, colour explosions, the variety of food and drink stalls, prize giveaways and the skydivers who made a grand appearance at the event, the day was packed with excitement, activities and also musical performances by the likes of micasa who managed to have the whole crowd to do the jika. “We thank everyone who took part in the event in Johannesburg this past weekend” said Tavis Brown, co-founder of the Festival. “The crowds were undeniably full of energy and enthusiasm throughout the day and the feedback has been incredible! VODACOM IN THE CITY TAKES JO’BURG FESTIVALS TO THE NEXT LEVEL

“Jo’burg a-r-e you ready?” screeched spirited front-woman Skin to a sea of 11,000 indie rockers at Friday’s Vodacom In the City in downtown Jo’burg’s Mary Fitzgerald Square.  As Cass’ bass-beat pulsed through the bodies of the sweat-streaked fans, the air was filled with thousands of cellphones held up to capture Skunk Anansie’s long-awaited return to South Africa. As the unofficial headline act of the evening, they thrilled the crowds with Skin’s crowd surfing, cementing the iconic British band’s performance as one of the best ever seen in SA. The whole vibe of the festival was electric!  As the only local act on the line up, Al Bairre played an outstanding opening set, so it’s no surprise that they’d won the Vodacom ‘Open the City’ competition that saw over 18,500 votes from the public.
