THE BACHELORS TAKE ON WEDNESDAY DINNER USING THE PHILIPS AIRFRYER

This time we were wondering what to eat on Wednesday evening. Middle of the week, taking it easy and looking forward to the weekend.Cooking has never been better before. The first thing that comes to my mind when it comes to cooking is the AirFryer, as we already know by Philips.

As discussed in our previous review the AirFryer fries literally anything that fries on a normal frying pan.

This time we wanted to save time, quickly we decided it will be pork and pap for the stomach. A typical South African meal, with no intention to generalize.A few weeks of using this magnificent peace of technology we have learned a few tricks which we’ll be sharing as we learn more. An interesting one that is worthy to be mentioned is its ability to gently defrost meat simultaneously while sinking in the spices and slowly bring it to a cooking point and thereafter frying.

Let us explain in a bit more detail how well that works in 3 simple and easy steps:
Step 1: Getting the meat ready

We had frozen meat, which instead of traditionally defrosting it with a microwave oven we simply added a pinch of salt and some pork seasoning. And here is the important part, ensure that the seasoning is evenly distributed on the meat. Keeping in mind that the meat is frozen!
Step 2: Defrosting and precooking the meat with the AirFryer

At this stage one has to be really careful as it is a very important stage of the cooking (frying) process.set the AirFryer temperature level at 95 degrees and let the meat defrost and precook for only 10 min. After which the meat was precooked and spices had sunk in as if the meat had been pre marinated. I left the AirFryer off for a few minutes with the meat inside.
Step 3: Frying the meat (the purpose of the AirFryer)

As you may already guess “step 2” was one of many other discoveries we are yet to make with the AirFryer. And boom, as the meat had its own fat we added no extra fat and set the heat level to 180 degrees and 6 min later our meat was ready.
Pair it with pap and stew and a bottle of Obikwa chardonnay

To wrap up, our concluding remarks are this piece of technology is becoming better and better as we learn more about it. Now defrosting, cooking and frying can be done in one go.
Once again thanks to Philips.

  1. Loved your dish. I also use it to make dinners every evening for my husband and I. The meat is never dry and it tastes delicious. I love cooking again because of the shorter cooking time and the cleanup is a breeze. We are eating healthier now, and the food tastes amazing.
