EVENT REVIEW: Tshwane Music Festival

As the event poster started circulating a month before we all knew a heat weave of performance was guaranteed on the musical night. As Tshwane-torians came out to support Musical Festival hosted by their own musical citizens Uhuru, where there’s Uhuru there’s Kalawa JazzMe and friends so you known the line up and guest list will be star started.

Route to Giant Stadium was filled with cars and people all queuing to witness the festival. Our arrival at the venue security was impressive without a shadow of a doubt with the legendary Dj Oskido entertaining the crowd and the crowd responding we knew this will be night to remember.

We were in the heart of the event between the stage  and media circle, within a blink of an eye we started noticing few of South Africa’s artist and musical geniuses like Bruce Sibitlo, Sphectacula, Neves, Zulu Naja, Steve Group,Mahume, Mahoota  and was in the presence of Pretorias very own Hip Hop deejay legend Mpako. With Thembi Seete as one of the M.Cs the introductions complimented the performance, with hip hop being the medium of connection this days K.O, Questa and AKA captured the crowd.

The Crowd
One performance that was noticeable was AKA, just after midnight his name was called the crowd waited in anticipation. Four tracks later with his band set to go the microphone problem caused a delay again. The crowd lost faith with people thinking its his pre-Madonna stunts but little did know he was securing a full on performance. He gave 110% performance earning him the Guide Online Gold thumbs up.


Aka 
Kwaito presence was re-candled by Alska and what’s Tshwane Festival without its signature music “Rekere” Zulu Naja got on stage then everything was just rapped up. We appreciate Uhuru, Tshwane FM, Soshanguve Municipality for giving us such a spectacular event. Artist and crowd for insuring a Music Festival to remember. If its not reviewed by The Guide its a dead end.
