Greek family-eatery,Nostimo, opens in waterfall

This week, one of my favourite greek restaurants Mytho's, opened their first family-eatery called Nostimo.  its brand new bespoke restaurant in Waterfall Estate, combining its popular contemporary Greek cuisine with a family-friendly focus, making it the ideal venue for a quick weekday bite or a leisurely Sunday lunch with the whole family. Nostimo, meaning “tasty” in Greek, has something for everyone - a strong family focus with features that include a pottery studio, nature-themed kids play area complete with an organic playground. In addition to its exclusive Mediterranean recipes, Nostimo will be serving freshly baked artisanal bread, piping hot pizza fresh from their new wood burning oven and a variety of luxury, homemade ice creams. The contemporary, barn-style structure overlooks the latest Keith Kirsten venture, the Waterfall Wilds Nursery. Quality is paramount, evidenced in the development of the children’s area. While visiting the restaurant, ...

15 facts that you didn't know about HENNESSY

Hennessy was founded in 1765 by Irish officer Richard Hennessy who was serving in the army of King Louis XV. Eight generations later, Maurice Richard Hennessy (great-great-great grandson of Richard Hennessy) is still actively involved with the brand. Every morning at 11am a group of seven or eight skilful blending experts, known as Hennessy Comité de Dégustation (Hennessy’s Tasting Committee) – led by Master Blender Yann Fillioux who is a seventh generation Master Blender at Hennessy – come together to taste, smell, discuss and decide which eaux-de-vie (spirit before it’s aged into cognac) will be used to create the next blend. To celebrate its 250 th birthday this year, Hennessy created a special H250 Collector Blend. There are only 250 barrels of the blend available worldwide, which makes it a once-in-a-lifetime collector’s item. Master Blender Yann Fillioux and the Comité de Dégustation have been working on th...

A delighted Andy Watts, master distiller of the range, said in the 33 years he had been involved in making Three Ships, he had time and again been astounded by the international acclaim for these whiskies. “Who would have thought back then that we would be able to create such interest in South African whiskies? THE BACHELORS GUIDE TO A SIMPLE MONDAY NIGHT DINNER

Monday the most dreaded day of the week for obvious reasons, honest truth we all wish that there was just ONE day between Sunday and Monday just for us to slowly let go of the weekend and gear up for the week ahead; oh well let us not bore you with things we can’t change. Back to this week’s Bachelor Guide to a Monday night dinner; occasionally on a Monday we all just want to come back from work kick-off our shoes and just unwind with a glass of wine with cooking the last thing on our mind. Either way we have to cook it’s one thing we all have to go through unless you can afford to go out or order some takeaways. Either way you have to eat.
