Recently sat down with the designers and the founders of the clothing label I RUN JHB: Neo Flame selemela (retail business management), wandile king leeu (marketing management), and zweli simanamane (marketing management) who are determined by all means to make things happen and run JHB with their flashy and bright clothing line I RUN JHB
1.       Questions: how did you guys come together and when did you guys start designing?
Answers: we were doing the same course at first and we all had a passion for fashion and designing, due to academic reasons, some of us had to change courses but now we back together and we start designing last year may.
2.       Q: what was the inspiration behind the brand the brand and also the name?
A: what inspired the brand is people that want to make it big, that are positive minded, positive thinkers, go getters and ambitious like us, we came up with the brand for such people because we also felt like that, we took ourselves as consumers that made it easier for us to come up with the brand, for you to be wearing the I RUN JHB you need to be doing something positive with your life.
3.       Q: is the brand just aimed for people that are staying in JHB only or?
A: no, we welcome everyone, the plan is to start here in JHB and let the brand first flourish first, than obviously overtime we will expand our brand everywhere else, but fir now we representing JHB, but if you ever from PTA, CPT or DBN we will soon make that happen with I RUN PTA, I RUN DBN, I RUN CPT etc.

4.       Q:  do you guys cater to a certain target market?
A: we cater to everyone, men, women, any body shape, our age range is mostly around 16 -35, but we welcome anyone.
5.       Q: I notice that your clothing line is bright, what’s the inspiration behind those colors?
A: The bright colors we try by all means to standout, because color represents positive people, people who don’t want to hide and are out there.
6.       Q: Where have you guys showcased your clothing range?
·         A : we worked with ABZ foundation, we last had a fashion show at capellos
·         We showcased our range at Back to the city concert
·         We also showcased at the market groove in Braamfontein
the clothing label which consists of t.shirts, caps, hoodys



7.       Q: Where do you guys like to see the brand in 5 years’ time?
A: 5 years for us is a bit too far, because we do short term planning, to answer your question about what will happen in 5 years’ time will be determined  by what happens next year, in 5 months from now we will be opening our own shop , that is going to strictly sell I RUN JHB merchandise, from T-shirts, hoody’s, watches, bags  and also accessories ,we will have a whole range starting from the 1st December, we want to provide a one stop solution for all your I RUN JHB shopping needs.

8.       Q: Where do you guys currently sell your clothing line at the moment?

  10. starting a new brand can be very hard...guys like them who take the oppurtunity to stand out and make a living out of thier dreams shoul really be celebrated....they derserve to be called South African future
